{"id":227,"date":"2024-08-03T02:53:55","date_gmt":"2024-08-03T02:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.organology.ams-net.org\/?page_id=227"},"modified":"2026-07-04T02:53:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T02:53:25","slug":"student-travel-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.organology.ams-net.org\/?page_id=227","title":{"rendered":"Student Travel Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>AMS Organology Study Group Student Travel Grant<\/strong> was established in 2024 with the generous support of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amis.org\/\">American Musical Instrument Society<\/a> (AMIS), with matching funds from the American Musicological Society&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsmusicology.org\/page\/studygroupfund\">Study Group Activities Fund<\/a>, to encourage and enable college and university students (and recent graduates) to participate in the annual meeting of the American Musicological Society and the activities of the Organology Study Group (OSG). The selection committee welcomes applicants with academic interests in organology and\/or other intersections of music and material culture studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grant consists of financial support to offset some of the costs of attending the Annual Meeting of the American Musicological Society (e.g. registration, travel, and lodging).  <strong>NOTE: Since the 2026 Annual Meeting is online, the &#8220;travel&#8221; grant will cover student registrations for the conference.<\/strong> Recipients are expected to attend the Organology Study Group\u2019s session at the meeting.  For recipients who are not already members, the grant also includes a complimentary one-year membership in the American Musical Instrument Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants can receive the OSG Student Travel Grant a maximum of three times. Please note that individuals can only receive one financial grant\/award per year from the AMS.
